Hello! I thought I would introduce myself. I am located in Central Virginia, I raise purebred, pedigreed Holland Lops to the breed standard. My herd currently consists of two bucks (Happy and Yogi) and 8 does (Heidi, Rosie, Aurora, Willow, Charlotte, Talullah, and Tanana), and we are almost ready to breed a few of the does for our first litters after their summer break! I have been raising rabbits since March 2020 and am very glad to have just made it through our second summer! I hope to add Continental Giants at some point. I am excited to be here!

Welcome from another Virginian
Lots of rabbit people here....
Welcome to BYH!
Thank you!!! I look forward to being able to join the discussions, I have been lurking around this site since well before we had rabbits! I used to have Muscovy ducks, but my family decided to sell them once we realized we didn't care for their eggs, and we were too attached to eat them! They went to a nice man who wanted them for eggs.

Do you eat the extras? Or manage to sell extras as pets?
Because Holland Lops are so small, there isn't much worth eating. We sell to pet homes mostly right now, but as we've begun improving and really defining our own line, we've produced some really gorgeous potential brood rabbits! (If we could ever teach them to pose!)

You can't teach them to pose......but you can try! Don't wait for that perfect picture, just start clicking. Sometimes I take 10-20 pictures to get the 1 or 2 that I want to keep.

I got this picture of my ram today after he scarfed down some orange tomatoes. I just kept clicking away and caught his tongue sticking out. So cute!

Ah I would love to share pictures!

Some pictures from when we were just starting out and our first litter! (Tanana, Talullah, Lloyd, and Blue were our first litter)

and a few pictures of our Siamese sable doe, Willow. This is the first rabbit we produced where we really chose the pairing, and were beyond pleased to get such a lovely girl. She turned 6 months over the hottest part of the summer, so now she’s 8 months and needs bred!
