I agree on the no climb fence, and I agree, calling your insurance agent and asking them the legal stuff about fencing is the best idea.

Asking the insurance agent is best... but I think I remember when I bought my electric fence it clearly stated that electric fence signs were to be hung every 100 feet.

Also... my baby sis has trespassing issues... I remember she said the scary dog signs were more effective than the no trespassing or gun range signs.

I had some trespassing issues... but only at one spot... I put up a tripod of poles and covered them in bones... spines and skulls, along with a trespassing sign... that worked for me.

If I had kids from a subdivision trespassing, I would string up dead squirrels every 30 feet along that side..... but that is me. :idunno

A little off subject, but you fell in love with Snip when you were here. This evening I was brushing Snip and Star. They are 7 months old now and still sweet, well behaved rams. I’d be brushing Star and Snip would calmly walk between us, so he could get brushed. Then Star would walk between me and Snip. They were so funny!

How do Class 1 vs Class 3 galvinization and hinge joint vs knot affect the fence's durability. Which is better for resisting sheep and cows climbing on it?
There is a~$500 spread between Class 1 2"x4" and Class 3 2"x4". There is ~$200 spread between knot and hinge in same square size and galvination class.

Class 3 is way better, will last longer. Class 1 might rust too fast.

Knot is way stronger, but if you are putting up electric strength doesn't matter. Hinge is still pretty good, WAY better than welded.

Gotta be careful with scary dog signs though... if your dog does actually hurt someone, they can claim you knew you had a dangerous dog, cause all kindsa problems

eta.. i suppose that may depend on where you are though.

That is correct. I have 4 LGDs and one Great Dane/Labrador cross. No signs.
