I have a very pregnant doe. She gave birth last year and I missed it so I’m hoping to catch a glimpse this year. I’ve been checking her a few times a day and last night she just seemed “off”. Her poops aren’t small pebbles like usually, they are more log/lumps, resembles closer to a dog. Is this a feed thing or is this a sign labour could be starting soon?
Also I’ve been feeling ligaments and can’t seem to find them today but I’ll check again in a bit. She has some white stringy discharge as well. I could feel the baby move about last night. She is keeping her tail mostly up and crooked to the side. I am finding goats to be tricky to read, but any thoughts on if she will kid soon?

I believe you are seeing the first signs of labor. Our goat also carried her tail to the side the day she kidded, but not before that. And a stringy discharge is normally seen at the beginning of labor. The key will be to keep watching her and see what happens in the next few hours. Goats can be super fast (so this may already be too late). Our goat (whose kids were born just a week ago) also picked her spot in the barn and kicked all the other goats out. She made a bed for herself in a corner. And she wasn't interested in her morning feed.
