You DO realize she is more than cute and even cuter than a Steiff lamb .....

I got the milk bucket set up for Lizzie and I’ll have her use it for all her meals today and tomorrow. I’m working Friday-Sunday, so if she can prove that she’ll eat off the bucket by herself over the weekend, she may move out to the barn on Monday. 😢

I think I finally had a breakthrough with Garren and the bottle. He’s still not thrilled to take it, but when I went out to the barn this morning he came running up to me. I also got Xena to take the bottle. I may end up pulling Garren off entirely since he’s obviously not getting what he needs. Poor P-Ewe is going crazy with those 3 piranhas always trying to attach onto her. Udo looks great, but he’s also an accomplished snitcher.

I have 3 day old twin goats that I felt weren't as active as should be-- so I have them on supplemental bottles😊. Hope that helps you feel, not alone. They got colostrum, are nursing but, doe isn't a heavy milk producer, so far. She's a good, attentive mom. So I've pulled her in for extra feed and will help her feed a few days. Thankfully I have several in heavy milk. The extra rich milk has helped👍

BUT they are bedding with mom!!

My 2 are so much better with the extra calories. Bouncing around like they should be! Mom comes to check things when I feed them...they still nurse, just not as much since tummies are full of some rich milk. Hope she produces more soon. First kidding for me but she's had kids each yr, now 6. The extra feed to her will help! They're taking 8oz each, 2-3 times a day and some suckling. 🤫. I have plenty of fresh milk...just an extra chore.

We may have some separation anxiety. She was not happy when I left to go to work this afternoon. She screamed like a madwoman when I came in the front door tonight and tripped herself up in her frantic rush to get to me.

This does not bode well for the barn transition. Especially since it would seem that she forgot that she can nurse off the bucket whenever she’s hungry.

When feeding time, do you make her use the bucket instead of you holding a bottle? That's a must. 🙄. Otherwise she'll never use it....
