I don't get why the pattern calls for Mushu and the comb to be outlined but not Mulan.

Atm, I am still "full steam ahead" on the stitching. I have decided to include my mom in the gift giving, and possibly my sister's in law.
This one will be for my mother. She loves geese and has many of them. It's looking a bit like an ostrich

No progress today. It's been a tough one.
We put down our 20 yr. old cat this morning. She had kidney failure. My oldest daughter is taking it hard.
Plus we all are sick with a cold or something.

All right, be honest, do you see a goose?

It looks goose-ish to me but I almost feel like I can't unsee ostrich now. When I give it to my mom I will believe sure not to say anything about ostriches.

I see goose. We raised Emden geese for several years. Granted one would not work well for your picture, but they were entertaining.
