Morning all! I took an allergy pill last night, had a reaction to something, hardly ever do that, so I really overslept. Reading about @Mini Horses food prep reminded me that I have sourdough starter ready to go.
Think we'll be having pot roast tonight. Better get moving or it will never get done. Oh yes, tea first! 🫖☕🍯 Maybe that will help clear the cobwebs. No allergy pill tonight.

Have a lovely day! 💗

It means you're probably a Left Coaster.

I'm west, but definitely not left:ep...

Vacation is coming in 9 days... Tahoe here we come... just wish we still snow skiid...⛷️⛷️⛷️lol But this place has heated pools and hot tubs!♨️🏊‍♀️ Think it's going to be mild enough to get some nice walks in.

So glad you apparently got to keep "my portion" of the white there!! You needed it & I'm happy to share😁. Should melt pretty soon for good ground moisture. I hope no new calves!!

So -- if he knew it would snow, knew more hay, why not add before leaving??? Would it be too covered in snow if he did? 🤔 Probably, if unrolled, not if standing 🤷🤷🥴. Yep, they do eat a lot more. -- digestion=body heat.
Because he had things to do and didn't get an early start to the day, these places were not a priority, and wasn't counting on the forecast to be accurate... so wasn't going to "be on the safe side".... I made the comment that the ones we just moved to Grants, behind me; needed a roll even though they had a good amount of stockpiled grass...which he grumbled but did put one in there... I see where they have really worked on it since yesterday... They need to pick through the snow... and a roll is not going to "go bad" sitting out there or in the long stack of hay....no more snow cover than sitting in the long rows along the places it is set out now.... BUT.... she had things that needed doing Tuesday, and we had had that rain/ice little bit overnight Mon night... so these other pastures did not rate high on the priority list...

No new calves which is good, but lost one that was 10 days old... found it dead Thurs (yesterday) afternoon... saw a bunch of buzzards... and found it near the hay ring... no apparant reason... on his old cow that was going with the calf to snyders.....maybe she didn't have enough milk, I have no idea... she was going to get sold after this calf... so now she will get sold whenever he has something headed to town... I wanted him to move her and 2 others up to snyders when he moved the 3 heifers and the 2 prolapse cows... but they had gotten turned back out in the calving field...

Why do any of them do ...or NOT DO.... things that should be done.... ????:hu:hu:hu:idunno:idunno

So sorry about the calf @farmerjan. That's a hit in many ways. Feel bad for the cow. Price of calves is still silly high so not worth grafting to save the season. Get that cow shipped asap and get her off the feed bill. :(

Good afternoon everyone!
It was SUPER cold here last night! Got down to 35*. 😂Had the tiniest bit of frost on the hay tarps.

So happy to be posting this next bit. We officially OWN a new (to us) home in MO!!!!!!!!!!! Praise the Lord!!!! It's finally over. Did some serious reaming last night and today things were handled while we were sleeping. Waiting on an update from the realtor about how we handle getting keys etc since we let the sellers stay past closing so they weren't stressing on getting everything out in time. But the deed is officially in our name and checks have been received by the sellers. I hate to type this but it really hasn't settled in yet. Not the feelings I expected after so many years of making this happen and so much drama. Especially in the last few weeks. I just can't wrap my head around it yet. I think once my better half is up it will start to sink in.

6 chickens are done cooking. Letting them cool now so I can get the meat off and get the stock started. Sure smells delicious in our house right now. :drool

Time for a second cup of coffee! Major hugs to everyone! Thank you all so much for supporting us since joining here! You all are amazing! Have a great evening!
