Linen broke my heart this morning. She lambed at 2am (so I got no sleep).

Lamb #1 was a perfectly respectable black gulmoget girl. Very nice, very pretty.

Sally is the last hold out for this group of ewes. Her “due date” was yesterday, but she seems content to hang out and eat.

I kicked Oona and her girl out into the big group yesterday because 2 protective moms with lambs was stressing out Linen, Sally, and Patti. Patti got flipped into the water tank in the middle of the night a couple nights ago.

Newton is enjoying having a friend and the 2 of them were racing around the barn last night and launching themselves off of sleeping ewes. Fiona and her children will be released tomorrow to make room for Linga and Fyne, maybe Symphony and Freyja as well. The last 2 aren’t due until next Saturday, but they are both higher risk (geriatric for one and potentially for triplets for the other).

Possible herd sire???? Yeah, they always do things like that... And, the males around here, bull calves, always are the nicest friendliest steers and the heifers are always the witches...

Probably not a herd sire for me, unfortunately. I only have maybe 4 ewes he could be used on.
