Sneezing, coughing, runny nose & eyes

Yeah my feed bill says they are fed good and proper lol I spend more on them a month than my own groceries. I try to make sure they have everything they need. I've honestly not had much problems before these. Pinkeye (last year) and coccidia in one goat kid when I brought her home. I only...

Yes, enough space for everyone. They are getting grain about every other day but it is not moldy. I don't feed moldy anything to my animals. Hay is hay. It's from the same batch that I bought at the beginning of July.

Never heard of it. But all 13 of my goats are like this. We have been having temps in the 80s during the day and into the 50s & 60s of the nights recently.

Sneezing, coughing, runny nose & eyes

It has been one thing after the other after buying 5 new goats. I've never had so much trouble. Coccidia, kids treated and improving. Did have some coughing during and after eating (thought was normal because they are gluttons) Well I now have coughing, sneezing, runny nose and eyes...

First time breeding of an older doe

I had a NZ doe finally have babies. She's 2. I've tried multiple bucks with her since she was 8 months old. She produced a small litter of 4 but raised them, although she started weaning them at just shy of 4 weeks.

    Pregnant at 4 months?

Yes a chance but do you really want to take a bigger chance of losing your doe? Carrying this young would not be good for her and the babies will probably be too big for her to pass as her body won't be developed.

    Pregnant at 4 months?

Get a blood sample and have her tested. If she is then the vet needs to Lute her.

    Bottle babies....

Supposedly they make friendlier goats and since handling so much they are easier on the stand. To me it's harder to wean them to solid food than dam raised. Mine had no interest in hay or grain at 5 weeks old, while the other kids had already started munching on it. All my kids are overly...

    Broody hen...

I'm on BYC too. Yes to the cage. My silkies go anywhere from 3-7 days. It may take awhile to get a egg from her again

    AlleysChicks 2020 Kidding thread

Today was the day! My kidding season is officially over! Fleur had 2 bucks. Both blue eyed, moonspotted and had me wishing they were does! Final count is 6 bucks and 1 doe 😭 I will get better pics in a few days when there is better lighting.

    Goat fencing

So after we get the land fixed up a bit we are going to fence it for goats. I currently have a smallish herd of Nigerians. Here's my problem(s): We have a coyote problem and my neighbor has a big nasty dog that they let loose. Also 2 sides of the fence will be along the road. Me and my dad...

Need help introducing a bottle baby to food....

I consider it learning. People are doing worse. I'm lucky my animals are on the same land as my house so I'm not really traveling.

Still nothing from Fleur. I hate not knowing. Maybe this weekend. Friday marks 28 days since Rowena kidded.

    Broody hen day 23

Collect them, and stick a couple fresh under her. So she has something. Candle the ones she was sitting on and mark them before putting them back. That way no mix up. I've done this several times with no problems

    Broody hen day 23

Why? You collect eggs anyway? There's nothing wrong with removing eggs to candle.
