I would suggest giving some b vitamin injections.

Is Kaopectate ok for my Nigerian with Scours?

I would try to find out what is causing the scours as well. Masking the symptom will not fix the underlying issue. A fecal would be well worth the money. A little blood work can really give you some answers.

    Hoop Barns

We found they work great. But we also found that if kids are in the mix you better incorporate some kind of walls they can't climb or they will ruin it in a hurry.

    Horse with a bowed tendon

An animal the size of a horse tendon damage will heal but never be the same. This horse may be suitable for easy trail riding but I would venture to say his athletic career is over. Just depends on what his new purpose is.

    Ram Issues

I think you just have a ram that would be better candidate for shepherds pie. I have only owned two American Blackbelly rams but both were fantastic around the ewes and no problems with being around the babies either. My first ram did develop a bit of an attitude with me and did actually charge...

Buckling has abnormal horn after disbudding-Advice needed please!

The iodine you use on umbilical cords should work well to ward off infection and speed healing.

24 year old palomino gelding super skinny!!!

I don't think anyone has pointed out yet that as the horse ages his system begins to lose the ability to break down feeds. I use a feed that has added probiotics and such to aid in digestion. Sweet feed can be hard on an ageing horse. If I were managing this animal I would make sure the...

    Milk

The animal must be healthy. Rumen must have correct ph balance. A balanced rumen is less likely to have bacterial action.I toss milk if a goat is off at all. I used to wash and dry the udder and teats, but now I focus more attention to keeping the stalls as clean as possible and do a clean if...

    Promise Acre baking

All look really nice. Can't beat home made. I made a Sourdough apple cake for my birthday. Now i am trying to only have one serving of it. LOL Only trouble with creating these yummy things in the kitchen is if your household is two people its hard to keep off the weight.

    Opinions. We all have them.

I agree with your post on many aspects SBC. Trolls are annoying to be sure. When ignored it kinda takes away any power they thought they had. LOL

    Conflicting info - please help

Rabbits can indeed be tricky. The digestive system is so easily upset at weaning time. I have thought about trying to raise them in a colony setting but still have mine in cages. I would rather see them frolicking about but am still on the fence about it.

Goat Relapsing Anemia, Snowed in With No Vet! Help!

Just keep her warm. At this point I would focus more on getting warm water into her. An electrolyte as well would be good. It may be that her ruman is not working right. The ph balance may be way off. If you have any probiotics on hand I would give that. You can make up a home made electolite...

    Opinions. We all have them.

I have been busy for last few months so have not been checking in on the site. I had some time the other day so thought I would pop in. Saw a post that asked for a persons opinion and or insight on how to manage a herd. Thats cool I thought. So a few of us posted our opinions and why we had...
