    Peach Trees

I have peach trees and goats. The goats are not thrilled with peach leaves but will eat any peach within their reach AND leave the pit intact. Not saying that is true of all goats, but the buck pen that shares the fenceline with the peach trees is littered with the bodies of uneaten peach...

    Anatolian Pyrenees

We like single syllable names for our male dogs: Max and Rex top our list. Good names that are easy to say and easy to yell (as in where are you)... something with some oomph. Whatever you decide on his name he looks very handsome.

    Automatic waterers in sub-freezing temps?

I'm in North Central Texas and in winter have always left the tank floats in their tank and shut off the water. We have not seen any damage due to freezing.

    Coffee anyone ?

We have Jerusalem Artichokes, also called Sunchokes. Yep unless you want them taking over your yard you need to corral those plants. Their flowers do not produce seed as far as I have seen. We've been doing them for several years. Started out with one row and now... well it is a whole lot...

    Puppy Question

Last week we adopted two german shepherd puppies, both female. DOB 3/28/23. They are adorable to say the least and are going through the normal puppy antics. They have, mostly, learned their names and "down". We are working on just those two things right now. The question is how long are...

    DIY Alternative to Timothy Hay?

When I raised rabbits I fed them the same coastal hay I feed the goats. The rabbits got the stems left from the goats eating alfalfa. I don't recall ever feeding my rabbits Timothy Hay.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Rough, rambunctious, slightly aggressive buck...

I have a Nigerian Dwarf buck that gets a little stupid and decides that I am a toy. I started taking a short thin branch, about 3 feet long, in with me while I was in the buck pen. A couple taps on the nose and he wisened up. Have not had to show him the branch in several months. I also have...
