    Puppy help

Well the time is finally come, our old girl has cancer and it's affecting her fast. We have a 10:00 or 11 month old puppy who has been showing promise but also some negative traits. She chases but does not hurt the chickens, it's also very random like when we let them out of the coop. She listen...

    Bad udder and teets

Yes. Catch her up and give her an antibiotic. Its possible she may have lost use of her udder by now but if you don't get control of the infection itself you could end up losing your goat.

    Found Sheep

As long as she has hay and water you're doing good. I'd leave her be and just check on her every now and then like your doing.

    Cold weather ewes

My sheep always have access to shelters if they need them. They mostly use them during rain and freezing temperatures. I think they would appreciate a shelter or staying inside during the -20 days.

    Taming a bull

A sheep crook is an extension of your arm, a shield, as well as a weapon. You use it to guide animals, and if someone is being a jerk- let's say you have a pushy ram- then you use said crook to teach, guide, and keep the ram away from you. A ram comes up and gives you a love tap, then you turn...

    Taming a bull

Yeah, it wasn't good. We'll see how he does, and as long as he doesn't turn into a terror, which I don't think he will, then he can stay. Otherwise its the freezer. I wrote this before I read the last bit of your reply. Yes, we do not believe in keeping an aggressive animal around and definitely...

    Taming a bull

Ah yes, i've read that frequently and watched many bad videos. Momma cows can be crazy. The heifer's we're getting were both bottle raised and are super friendly as well as tiny like him, so hopefully as long were diligent we shouldn't have too many problems. Fingers crossed there. My husband...

    Taming a bull

Ok, so its best to have him interested in coming up to me instead of invading his space per say. Good idea. I like that. He's 27 inches tall at a year and a half old so he's going to be tiny, that is why we got him. We want a small pair of miniature cattle for our little homestead, don't really...

    Taming a bull

Perfect. Things I already know not to do. He will be in with two heifers around his size. Three maximum, but definitely two.

    Taming a bull

How do you make a young bull friendly? Friendly as in they'll let you walk up and touch them without fuss but not so friendly they see you as a target and want to plow you into the ground. Any bull is dangerous I get that, but I want to make this little guy as docile as possible. 20 months old-...

    Catahoula?

He needs a job. The breed is a very headstrong one that requires a firm leader or else he will become that leader. They enjoy hunting and are frequently used to hunt boar, which they do and adore. It may be possible to redirect him to rodent control? If you have a rat, squirrel, or rabbit...

    Feeding a miniature Zebu

Yeah, my last posting on here had me really put off on coming back after that one person was so rude. It's been a while so I thought i'd try again. We still have our dogs, our sheep and we still have goats just not all the old goats. We have a new herd now. Everyone tested positive for CAE and...

    Feeding a miniature Zebu

So, we are getting two Zebu. Both are under 30 inches tall so they're little buggers. One is a year and a half old bull, the other is a 4-year-old heifer. The people who had them fell on hard times and so they're coming to us in rough shape. We feed our goats Alfalfa pellets, sunflower seeds...

    Jumping up help.

Oh! And she didn't jump on me this morning :) She was more groveling for forgiveness but still! All I did was yell her name until she came back, opened the gate, half asleep, growled at her not to do it again, fixed the part where she escaped, and went back to bed. Such a silly dog...
