I have one cribber. Nothing will deter him, he will suck air off of air. [I was told once that is you can keep them from cribbing twice as long as they have cribbed you have cured them.]
Kinda like for dogs when they have stitches, you use deodorant over the stitches and it deters them from...
Hum, my new city neighbors upon seeing our horses up at the house mowing... errr grazing.... said Oh look! They like eating niblets....
....As in grass niblets.... [rolling eyes]
Of course try explaining fly masks on horses.....
Course these same neighbors tried to 'round-up' loose goats...
*note: I have to use a disclaimer as we have all levels of riding/training abilities here: Use safe judgment when trying any of these or any others mentioned in this thread. If your unsure how your horse will react, expose them to it slowly and with supervision. NEVER try to force your horse...
To back up a little here on my posting. I apologize as I forget that here on the web there are all levels of riders and I sometimes - if not most times - do not bother to read the entire thread. My reply was more knee-jerk reaction and I should have thought out how I worded it.

Somewhere I have a picture of a neighbors draft horse that not...
Finally ordered and received my first block of hay... nice having fewer horses, won't need to order but one more to take me through winter.

I have to "oil" my Bashkirs dread locks with essential oils, but only in the evening as the sun will burn the hair, but its OK if it soaks overnight. Maybe Bashkirs are more sensitive, their mane is fragile... just an inquiring...
Keep track of all your expenses; uniforms, approved tack, farrier, feed, miles driven, etc., .... you can write that off at tax time. :)
One last word of advise. :) 'You are your own safety monitor'
