    Before breeding

So, I know there is more than one way to skin a cat so I'd love to hear everyone's pre breeding practices. We have 6 Nigerian dwarf doe(ling)s. Two of which have kidded before (recently bought them together- one had already kidded and the second just kidded on May 5th on our farm) but we have...

    Feeding underweight doe

We have a 4 year old doe in milk. She kidded 5 weeks ago and we brought her to our farm 3 weeks ago with her babies. I'm not sure if her body is still going back to "normal" after kidding or if shes truly underweight but she looks and feels very underweight. I can feel her spine and on each side...

    How close is kidding?

Thanks! I've been checking her every morning during chores and every evening during chores as well. Seems her ligaments are still soooo slowly loosening. I'm thinking and hoping by this coming weekend! Thanks again!

    How close is kidding?

Thanks! The first possible due date was the 17th and the second was the 26th and then there was a third even later... so, the 26th is probably the date! Thanks so much

    How close is kidding?

Hi everyone! This is our first time with a pregnant doe and she got bred at her previous home accidentally. She is a Nigerian dwarf doe (3 years old) and this is her second freshening. She bagged up a couple weeks ago but it is really starting to fill up now. Her left ligament feels squishy...

    Calf with eye gunk

Thanks for your responses. I went out to take pictures after I made my post yesterday and the discharge was gone. He still had no drainage and nothing at all today. I'm guessing maybe he got some hay or another irritant in his eyes. He has no symptoms at all. I'll keep a close eye and be sure to...

    Calf with eye gunk

This am I went out to bring out some water to our goats and calf and found that our calf has a little bit of eye discharge. I didn't notice anything abnormal with his eyes themselves just small clumps of yellow discharge (in a clump like you see on dogs sometimes). There is nothing weeping and...

We have a GSD puppy around the same age. We have a shock collar that has a vibrate option and that’s ALL we have ever had to use for her. It honestly takes a very short amount of time and an even smaller amount of praise for German shepherds to learn commands. When it comes to a prey...

    FF Nigerian dwarf

Thanks a LOT! I am trying everything I can to not overload her with a bunch of new stuff but also trying to rapidly get her in better condition - especially if she’s pregnant. I leave out a loose mineral and it has had far more action now that her and her brother have come to join our herd. I...

I’m not exactly sure the size of the buck. He was definitely bigger (they told me) but I can’t be sure of HOW much bigger. Her goat is awful, I have been trying to give her a few good “treats”, some grain and excellent hay along with their forage. Do you think her coat could be a sign that she...

    FF Nigerian dwarf

We got her from the farm next door. We went to get hay and they had these two guys in with their cattle. Someone had dropped them off at their farm with little to no information. There was a buck with her as well as her brother(if not her son) since she/he was born. Her son/brother was just...

Can they give you a round about due date if it comes back positive? I have considered that but if she is I’ll still need to get an ultrasound to know when she’s due. If it’s just a positive/negative i think I’d rather just bring her in for the US. How long does the bloodwork take to come back?

So I just went out and was about to get some hands on her. Her coat is coarse and looks brittle... she’s very much “food aggressive”, her ligaments feel hard and tight, her belly is also hard and tight and I did not feel any movement in her belly... I know this may be an ignorant question...
