First off I said that I called places where they rescue them this are facilities where they already have unwanted animal but they are at capacity now, I never said that I am trying to sell them to someone and tell them what to do with them at the same time I don't know where anyone got the...
We have about 6 goats that we decided we are not going to keep, we have dairy goats that we are keeping of course. The goats we don't want to keep are very sweet and they are given love and they're very well taken care of, unfortunately we cannot keep too many. I understand the life cycle where...
Yes we rub the area repeatedly after the shot and when we found the lump we tried to give them some comfort. As long as it is not unhealthy it's okay. Thanks for the replies.
We vaccinated some of our goats and I noticed on some of them there is a small growth under the skin in the same area where there were injected with the vaccine. Does this mean the vaccine was applied improperly? What can we do now? Thanks In advance
Our goats have not been vaccinated before we got them, or tested for cae, we will be starting by giving them the cdt shot and have them tested, my question is, can we give the CDT vaccine to the goats in milk? I know we can vaccinate the babies at 5 weeks and then a booster shot after 3 weeks...
Today Mickey our oldest goat (4yo) gave birth to a male and female baby goats. We were very fortunate with the two previous births with no issues at all but this time something different happened, Mickey did not want the baby girl at all, she would push her, bite her and tried to step on her. We...
It was only $38, it's a good idea but I made one myself and it works much better.
All you need is a mason jar, 1/4" ID food grade silicone hose and a 30ml syringe, if you want to make it for two teats then you'll need a second syringe and a 1/4" T.
I'll take a picture of what I made, it's very...
We have a mixture of Nubian with lamancha and to some degree Nigerian dwarf goats. Most of them look like a Nubian but they're built is different or I could say they look like a really big Nigerian dwarf.
So far we've been sharing my I thought about separating them and see if we can get more...
Thanks for the welcome, I like it here.
We ordered a hand pump from ebay, it works ok but I like the one I made myself a little better, its a little more powerful or I guess it pulls a vacuum faster and I put a gauge in there to make sure I don't pump too much.
We keep the kids with their moms...
Ok so after some research I found a list t make a milker with a hand pump, I actually have most of this things on hand. What is the consensus on the effectiveness of this and does it bother/affect the goat in any way?
thanks
We just started milking our goats two of them gave birth this week so we started training them do you get up on the milk stand. It was a battle to get them to stay but eventually I was able to get some milk out.
Can anyone suggest a portable milking machine hopefully one that is battery powered...
Right now I have one 10'x10'x8'H very cozy shelter where I keep 4 goats (corral is much larger) and I was wondering if I really need to build a stall for the goats for when they give birth, say 4'x8'x8'H. The place where I got them had only one very large shelter where they could come in and out...
Thank You for the schooling, I still have to make a milk stand if I get to milk this goat but I would like to at least make good friends with this goat and the others for the next time if it doesn't work this time.
I was also thinking about making a separate stall for the goat to give birth, I...
