    Californian Cross?

Wow they look Cali and not a cross. I have Cali/NZW kits right now that are five weeks old . They have light grey ears and a light grey spot on the nose. My supposedly pure Cali kits were much darker. Of course if they weren't pure Cali, they are even more diluted now.

    Californian Cross?

We live in Eastern Canada and at this time of the year it is definitely not hot

    Californian Cross?

I guess they are a very pale grey. She's hardly got any color in the feet. The kits have grey feet, tails and noses but the buck was very dark and had all the normal Californian markings

    Help, doe urinating on kits!

I moved the doe and her kits to a larger cage and added a litterbox and put the nest box back in. 24 hours later she has not peed in the nest box or on the kits but has used the litter box. Yay! :weee

    Californian Cross?

This is Cookie. She was sold to me last month as a pregnant Californian doe. The picture the owner used in the ad was of another rabbit. Being new to Californians, it has just come to my attention that she has white rather than coloured feet which would lead me to believe she is not a purebred...

    Help, doe urinating on kits!

I put a litter box in and took the nest box out. When I arrived at her cage this morning, all six kits were out of the box and sitting with Momma on the wire. Since they looked fed I took them out for the day to give the doe time to check out the litter box. They are sleeping in a deep plastic...

    Help, doe urinating on kits!

My first time mother, a Californian doe gave birth to a litter 10 days ago. She keeps using the nest box as a litter box and is urinating on her poor little kits. I have had to clean the box out once or twice a day for the last few days and have been cleaning the kits with a warm damp cloth and...

    Hello from New Brunswick, Canada

Rabbits are addicting :). I've added a few to my herd in the last month and yesterday my Californian doe gave birth to 8 kits in her first litter. Meet my New Zealand Red buck, Rusty, my Flemish Giant Californian cross, Ebony, and my Dutch Black Sasha and Pete. I love my bunnies!

    Due date?

Goodness! I was wrong again. Not 5 babies, not 7, no Cookie gave birth to 8 kits on her first litter. Mom and babies doing great.

    Due date?

Head count is going up. There's at least 7 wiggly babies in that nest. Hard to count when they won't sit still :)

    Due date?

Yay! Cookie gave birth this morning to at least 5 plump kits. There may be more in the nest box but I didn't want to disturb it too much. I'm a bunny grandma and lovin it :)

    Snuffles with no discharge?

Just wanted to update on my sneezing bunny George. He still sneezes occasionally but it has been weeks and he has never had any nasal or eye discharge at any time. I think it must be an allergy. Eliminated the alfalfa hay but he eats Timothy hay every couple of days. He is back in closer...
