    How irresponsible can you be?!

I think you have been more than patient and don't blame you a bit, animals harmed or not- they keep coming to your place for a reason, probably just a matter of time before something was attacked again... plus when there are 2 or more they can be a dangerous nuisance- what would happen if one...

    anyone experienced with Pyr./Anatolian cross

Thanks ! I had 2 Pyrs, we recently lost our 150# male and I was going to get another Pyr. but was really impressed with this litter of puppies I found, and saw both parents in action- but I am not familiar at all with Anatolians personally, just what I've read- I appreciate your input :)

Grandkids want a horse or pony

I think everyone here is giving you sound advise :) A nice, older, kid safe horse would be the route to go- and I would take a horseperson you trust with you if you are not very knowledgeable about horses. Even take the kids with you and szee how the horse reacts around them- I personally don't...

    anyone experienced with Pyr./Anatolian cross

I am picking up my new Antolian/Pyr puppy tomorrow- wonder if there's much of a temperment difference between them and pure Pyrenees ? I know it probably depends mostly on the individual dog, but is there a known reason/benefit to why people cross them ? Thanks !

Keeping weight on horse, possibly new horse feed? Suggestions?

I would agree with worming and teeth floating- I have a 5 year old mare that just by reason of her temperment alone has a harder time keeping weight on- I check the teeth, worm her regularly (and switch out types of wormer)- and also feed her Purina Healthy Edge, 14% sweet, and Empower Rice Bran...

    Favorite breed?

My favorite is Quarterhorse- I have had Arabs, and a Thoroughbred but to me the Quarterhorse (at least the ones I have had) are the most even tempered, steady, comfortable, and versatile. But that's just me and I know people who have Aarabs that say the same, as well Standardbreds, Foxtrotters...

Am I the only one who ever thinks about this?

I did this- at 49 years old LOL I am a lifelong horse owner but have never started one- my husband bought me a cutting bred unbroke 4 year old- big spoiled baby with no manners and hot as fish grease ! Everyone said I would never be able to do anything with her- too hot, too long with no...

Where did you get your LGD?

OK I have one for you...I recently found an 8 week old litter of Pyr./Anatolian cross pups. Mom is half and half, Dad is full Pyr. both working stock, guarding goats- They were born in the barn with the goats and are with them now. I pick mine up Friday- I have cows and 1 horse, no goats- how...

Horse skin reacts to fly bites

Hi Ever since Glory and I moved to a large acreage (with cows) she has been plagued with fly bites- these are the little flies that attack cows. She gets welts and itches her fur almost bare in spots. I am currently using Endure fly spray, which has always worked in the past, but these flies...
