I had Nubians for most of my life... but recently switched to pygmies. I love both breeds and each brought new experiences to my life. Right now, I am more into fostering goats from criminal cases that I am working (I work as a Humane Investigator), but my "permanent goat" (and by that I mean...
Absolutely adorable :weee
Glad she is doing better... my little "kid" was sick and worrying me, but all is well now. I know what it feels like to have that sigh of relief :celebrate
We have an electric fence around our yard. We have 130 acres, but since the goats we have our pets, we don't want them wandering totally around the property and keep them in our front yard. We tried the electric netting and we had the same result. Instead we went with just one wire on the top...
Just a quick update....
Lil' Guy is doung AWESOME! He has totally come around and follows me around every where I go! Tonight I walked to the bathroom and I thought he had a heart attack and screamed and screamed until I came back. He also has seen the vet and she put him on antibiotics...
Well at least my fears about him not eating were unfounded. We brought him inside due to the weather and after about 20 minutes he wandered out of his crate and around the living room for a bit. Then he walked back inside his crate and started CHOWING DOWN on the hay. Made me feel a lot...
I am so sorry for your loss... losing part of the family is very hard. My husband and I were fostering a baby Nubain that was part of a criminal case from one of my investigations and she was very sick and thin when we got her. She made it for a few days and just when I thought she was going...
Sounds good... thankfully, my vet is amazing and I work with her through my work place (I work as a Humane Investigator for a local SPCA). I am hoping she will provide me with the wormer and the vaccines to administer myself, which I do not think she will have a problem with. And even more...
Thanks Elevan! We have his food in a hay feeder on the side of his pen. We put the pellets and hay in there. His breeder was feeding him the pellets and said he was woofing them down. I just finished him Cocci treatment today (Albon) and have a call into my vet to worm him and get his last...
Thank you all! I just let him settle today in his pen and tried not to bug him to much. I did notice that his runny nose is about the same, so I called my vet to make an appointment (also to get his worming done).
Is a runny nose (clearish, whitish snot), coughing, snorty breathing but no...
:D
Just a quick hello to everyone! Brand new as of today and found this forum to get help with my goats! Can't wait to start chatting it up about all things goats (and other creatures of course!)
Hello all! I am new to this board and wanted to introduce myself! Just got a brand new 8 week old weaned pygmy goat (wether) yesterday. Overall, he is adjusting nicely. He does have a little cold that my breeder came him medicine for, but I am going to have my vet check him out (also to give...
