    What Breed?

Aloha Sheep Peeps, Just acquired these two and have no idea what their breed might be. My Indriya (Clun forest/katadhin cross) photo bombed, lol. They were a rescue from someone who thought they were goats! I’m pretty sure there’s katadhin in there but am clueless as to what else there might be...

    False pregnancy?

So she is not in fact pregnant. She was put in with a friend's ram on the night of the 18th of April. This was her first and only time. My question now is how do I know for sure when she is open? And how long should she be in with the ram to try again? Oh and I didn't milk her, lol, I just...

    False pregnancy?

Hey everyone it's been a while since I've been on here cuz things have been going good for my little ewe. I put her to a ram on the 18 the of April. She had all the signs of pregnancy but she hasn't lambed yet. Her udders are still flat but she has colostrum. She is a clun forest for those of...

    Unstable sheep

Well it was definitely bloat. Drenched her with olive oil and it seems to have passed. I have got to get her pinned up better. I just feel so bad because she's all alone. Going to try really hard the next few months to find her some friends. And we are definitely getting her fencing. She's been...

    Lame ram lamb

Just to update anyone on this thread that wasn't on the Shelly Hoof post, he passed away tonight. I am certain it was WMD. It's the only thing that makes sense. He has definitely given me the learning lesson I needed to put me on the right path with this farm.

    Shelly Hoof?

Hey everyone, he passed away this evening. I had to run to town to pick up some groceries and when I got back he was gone:hitHis death will not be in vain though. I have been educated more in the last three days than I had the last three months. I'm gonna take a time out to evaluate my life and...

    Shelly Hoof?

Definitely not scald or Hoof rot. No signs of any trauma on his hoofs either. WMD is definitely what I'm thinking it is. Our soil is not the greatest but I didn't think it was that bad, now I know. If the vet is resistant to give me the Bo-Se without seeing him, I'm gonna have no choice but to...

    Shelly Hoof?

Nothing has changed with giving him the Nutri-drench. But if it's white muscle disease, I guess I shouldn't expect it too since the selenium and E levels wouldn't be therapeutic. I'm going to call the vet I called the other day back and tell her to just give me the Bo-Se.

    Shelly Hoof?

Oh he has had no appetite problems, lol! As long as I keep it in front of him. And he is drinking good. I roll him on his side and stretch his legs out and rub them every 4 hours. He's been ruminating just fine. Gave him the nutri-drench and am going to the health food store to try and find...

    Shelly Hoof?

Guess I will be heading back to get Bo-Se, too.

    Shelly Hoof?

Hey everybody, I'm definitely thinking white muscle disease also. He has no other symptoms other than the lameness. Just went to Del's farm supply and bought up their entire vet section for sheep. Unfortunately, the other livestock people have a private in house vet. I will be scheduling them an...

    Shelly Hoof?

So this ram lamb has been lame since Monday. No foot rot, no signs of scald, no signs of anything but a low temp on Monday night. I have exhaustively been researching what it could be. Just a reminder, there are NO vets on this island that deal with sheep. I still think I'm dealing with multiple...
