Some of my sheep and goats always get hoof rot right after a rain. I make a mixture of pine tar and zinc sulfate with warm water, if need be I put it in an old rubber boot and just stick their leg in it as quickly as I can. It's best if I can hold it for 60 seconds but if not I still find this...
My Dexter bull, Pete.
Yesterday I checked in with the woman from whom I purchased him. She said his Dad will break through fences for a cow in heat, but his son will not. Gentler.
Your last paragraph hits the nail on the head. I have some other neighbors immediately on the other side of the fence from me and they have some cows way down at the end of the parcel. Their fence is uber flimsy and my bull goes over there and lays down outside, or bellows at them when they're...

You may have a point. There is one neighbor who used to keep these small bulls and cows. I will chat with them. Thanks again.
Thank you for all of that helpful information. I am planning ahead.
The cow is a mid-size Jersey, the calf is Jersey/Dexter mix. The bull is a Dexter, although not her sire. I have the bull because AI failed and was costly here because of her smaller size.
I have read that if a bull can run...
