Friends,
Thanks for reading.
I am in need of suggestions as what to do with the extra parts of a rabbit after processing. I have learned to tan the hides well enough. How about the heads and feet/tail. Anything any of you do with them?
I typically give the heads to my dogs, who eat them whole.

Yeah i've had them chew at plastic in the past. I have a few tricks i use to avoid this. 2 years into my backyard herd and you learn there is little they wont chew on. I got one stacked cage with 3 compartments. Perfect grow out cages. How do you feel about...

I have a set of really well built wood hutches that do my heavy lifting. This is more experimental since the cages are of good quality and gifted to me. So, keep them dry and windproof with ventilation is key.

This would be underneath a large deck if i can weather proof them enough, if not, inside my shed which has plenty of studs to hang them from. I was more or less wondering if it is common practice to use heavy duty, pond liner style plastic to attach to the sides of the...

So your saying because of the wood hutches and the wire being defecated on and such causes bacteria. I hear you on that and I agree. But personally, I don't see there not being bacteria in any housing situation. I hear that a water, vinigar mix is a good cleaning...

My name is Marlom, I am in a suburb near Salt Lake City, Utah. I have a very small herd of one breeding buck and One doe. I have culled my first litter last summer and just had a recent litter born a week and four days ago. Looks like 8 this time. I have...
They look so adorable. I like the dogs just walking in between them keeping an eye out on em! After reading your post, all I could think was, " 44 pigs... " :ep

Yes, I thought about the wood and chewing. I provide wood blocks for them to chew on, but i know this will not be sufficient. On the inside of the ceder side shingles, they were already chewing. I solved this by taking wire screens and cutting them to size. As...
