    Lawn mowers

It is scary when they freak out. I have seen it a couple of times and they do run around the cage walls and hit the ceiling. They don't get excited when I run the mower by the windows and I have run a shop vac in the rabbit shed and they don't mind that either. I have startled them by walking...

Pasturing and Health Problems *Warning: Graphic Photos*

Read the whole thread, thanks for posting all this information and the links. Hope you gets a handle on this soon. Wish I could offer good advice but no experience with this. Good luck.

    Trimming Nails?

You don't have to put them on their back. I put mine on a carpet covered table. I was surprised the first time I did it as it was not as hard as I thought. I kind of wrap my arm around the rabbit and with that hand hold the foot I am working on. You have to do 2 feet right handed and 2...

    Processing Day Weights

Excellent discussion. Different situations definitely. I can see where Bossroo is coming from. Time is very valuable (not talking from the time is money point of view either). I definitely can see where moving the rabbit tractor 3 or 4 times a day would get old. Rabbits take enough time as...

Could this be caused by ear mites (picture)

A distinct possibility. I am going to keep up the mineral oil regimen to completion. It isn't that big a deal. This is a friendly doe and she comes to the cage door to be petted and I just squirt some in with an eyedropper. Got to be quick to start massaging it around before she tries to...

    Processing Day Weights

Did you consider just letting the second batch go a while longer. Since they were just on grass and not costing anything but time (I know you said you were moving them several times a day). It is my understanding that 10 to 12 weeks is when the feed to meat conversion slows down. In the case...

Could this be caused by ear mites (picture)

Thanks mysunwolf, anybody else seen anything like this. Flies are possible, but I have hardly any in there. Like I said, they seem more interested in the manure pans than the rabbits. And it is only the one rabbit.

Could this be caused by ear mites (picture)

I noticed a couple of red spots on the ear of one of my does about a week ago. I have kept an eye on her and I have seen a couple more. I put mineral oil in her ears yesterday and today. I have been reading about ear mites today and from what I understand they start way down inside the ear...

    Californian or New Zealand?

Going from outside to AC should not be a problem. I keep my rabbits in a well insulated shed and have AC for when the heat index is going to be above 95. On days it's supposed to be really hot I usually go out around 10:30 or 11 AM and shut the windows and turn it on low cool. Then go back...

    Rabbit tractors and pasturing

Hey Bossroo, thanks for the input. Mysunwolf, I hope your pasturing continues with little problems. I will try to remember to ask how it's going in a month or two on this thread. I may still experiment a little when it cools off, will see how the rest of the summer goes.

    Rabbit tractors and pasturing

Hey Bossroo thanks for weighing in on this. I think you have voiced that opinion before. I take it you are speaking from experience. As far as the chickens, I pasture mine but keep in a moveable pen and have a predator proof(so far) coop on skids that I move with the pen every two weeks or...

    Rabbit tractors and pasturing

I have seem some recent discussions on rabbit tractors, pasturing and grass feeding and was wondering how these endeavors are going. Mysunwolf had a picture of a nice rabbit tractor and another breeder was pulling grass and feeding to rabbits in hutches. How are these things going. There was a...

Cleaning a rabbit and found these: WARNING: Graphic Photos

I spent about 30 minutes searching the internet and couldn't find anything that looked like those pictures. No idea what they might be.???????

    mysunwolf's Kindling Thread

Thanks for keeping us informed on your pasturing experience. I raise in cages but have always intended to do some pasturing experiments of my own and hopefully will get to it this fall. I have not done a lot of research on the subject but my main concern was the problem with worms. I have...
