Mobile Petting Zoo and Pony Rides

I am curious to see if anyone on here has a traveling/mobile petting zoo? I love talking to people about my animals and seeing people make the connection between a living being and what's on their plate (rather it be eggs, milk or the animal itself). I have always wanted to bring animals to...

    Goat Breeders in Indiana?

I was wondering if anyone is or knows of a goat breeder in Indiana. Preferably Nigerian goats but would also consider Mini Nubians, Pygmys or maybe a hair goat! I need a goat to be a companion for Delilah, my new lamb, before she comes home in 2-3 weeks. I could just get another sheep but...

    Help Me Name My Lamb

Those are all great ideas! Thanks so much! I decided on a name a couple weeks ago.... Delilah! She is going to be registered as "(farm name) Hey There Delilah"! My mom suggested it (the Delilah part, I came up with the registered name) and when I told my best friend, she said her mom said...

    Coccidia or Intestinal Lining? Help!

I brought 6 chickens home today. Four are very young and two are two-three months old, fully feathered but young. I've got those two in a cage desperate from the young ones and one of them (a golden laced Polish, which I got to show) pooped blood. She and the other hen she's with are also not...

    Help Me Name My Lamb

I went to the farm and chose a ewe lamb today!! :-) I have to decide on a name within the week so the breeder can register her. She's a beautiful chocolate brown color (they said she should stay brown but may get lighter) and has one light colored spot on her right side. She's a sweetie! I...

    Vaccinations for Sheep?

OK, thanks! The local horse vet said we only needed to vaccinate against rabies if we had bats in our barn, and it is not required our horses are vaccinated to be shown so I will check the show rules and see what is or isn't required.

    Vaccinations for Sheep?

What vaccinations do you give your sheep? I know what is needed may vary by location. Also, does anyone give their own vaccines?

Choosing a Show Lamb... What to Look For?

Thanks so much, that is very helpful! @purplequeenvt Do you roo your sheep? I heard you can do that with Shetlands and it sounds easier than shearing.

    Sheep and Pigs

If you're just raising hogs for a small part of the year, until they're big enough to slaughter, why not just buy 16 X 16 panels and make a pig pen and let the sheep run on the rest?
