Can I keep a Doe and a Buck together 24/7?

They will breed and breed. They may fight and one or both be injured. Rabbits do best (IMO) in individual cages they can be very territorial. The buck may kill the kits, or the doe could be bred before weaning the kits. Rabbits do just fine by themselves.

    Promise Acre: Our Journey

Been busy. Not at the farm but busy with life. Hoping we can get out there and keep on with the house. We did winterize it so no heating bill this year. Had a couple more litters. Butchered a bunch of bunnies, Velveteen Lops failed their presentation in Oct. So cut numbers but not completely...

How do you get virgin does to lift? (Rabbits)

Rabbits are seasonal.... some worse than others. Try some lights at night. I've heard and tried of everything from ACV added to their water, extra feed, moving their cages, ect. best thing I've found is more day length.

Good morning. Been keeping busy too. Getting ready for winter, we had snow over the weekend. Going to grind some rabbit meat today, get it vaccum packed into the freezer. That's after school and riding lessons.

    How to cure scabies ?

Do you know the cause? Was he bit or in that location I would suspect a tooth problem. Is he eating/drinking ok? I would clean daily with a gentle soap and water, then a OTC triple anticbiotic cream and a shot or two of penicillin. Just my opinion I would not suspect it to be scabies unless...

Is it safe to move a 25 day pregnant rabbit to a new cage? (Time sensitive)

I would do it asap if you're going to do it. And watch kits close if she's too stressed you could loose them. But you do what you have to do. I would move her before the kits rather than after.

    Coffee anyone ?

Made eggs and bacon for DH as he had to go into work. MR finally had her litter last night, 6 kits! No problems. Going to get the trailer cleaned out, then go get a load of hay from the farm. DH wants to mow over there and there's big tree limb in the front yard that needs cleaned up.

Not too much... 5 days is about right. Some years it's been into November so it's all good, they don't last forever and we enjoy when we can.

Finally a frost this morning! Hoping DD1's allergies settle now. It's been pretty crazy, Mom's doing ok. Yesterday we got the potatoes dug and a few last veggies. I grabbed a bunch of green beans to save to plant next year. I couldn't find my favorite kind this past Spring, though had a few...
