We got our first buck, Magnus, last fall and introduced him to our 3 does (Lucy, Ethel, & Mabel) on October 6. By my math, that means the earliest any of them could kid was last Friday, March 4. We don't know the exact dates that they were bred, but all 3 show signs of pregnancy. One is especially large, so we are hopeful for twins. And soon! I'm going crazy waiting to get my hands on those babies! I check on them over and over each day, and they're always just hanging out, chewing on hay or laying in the sunshine.

This will be our first kidding. Wish us luck!

Oh, and they're all boer goats.

We would love to see pics of your goats while you wait....

Any udders on your girls yet?

I spaced out our breedings this year due in part to the expected (now current) rain issues. We rarely get any rain but when we do, every thing floods. We have very soft sandy soil, so it soaks in fast, but with a dirt drive way and all dirt out back, animal pens etc, can be muddy messes. I didn't want to have anyone trying to kid in puddles, so we have 2 new babies on the ground so far and 2 girls due around the 22-23rd. After that it will be another in march then april.

Lucy (left) and Mabel (right) have both had udders for over a week.

Ethel doesn't seem to be as far along as the other two.

I am waiting for April to come around, when two of our goats will kid. They were both confirmed bred in December, each with twins. :weee
One of my other does kidded one month ago (with twins), so at least I will have some little goat kids running around to help me get through March. ;) I also have one doe due mid-May.

Your does are beautiful! And Magnus is a good-looking buck. :)

Our girls have been talking a lot recently. Have you noticed that with yours? Usually the only one who talks to me is Magnus, and he has a lot to say, but the girls are usually pretty quiet.

Just had triplets born here today, that makes 36 kids on the ground since Feb. 5. Next doe is due 3/23 and I have had 10 does kid in the last 10 days so I am ready for a break.

Whoa! I can't imagine being on that scale! I'll be happy with 3 kids, although I'm hopeful for 4. :)
