Hi all. im not sure what happened to our buck, but have noticed his eye is watery, starting to cloud and was slightly swollen around it. my best bet is he got hit by another's horn. no pus, no redness, no cuts or scratches. I will get pic later, is the cloudiness a sign of losing his vision? is there anything I can do?

I know nothing about eyes. My first thought would be an injury, my second thought would be pinkeye. If you can get the terramycin ointment I would use that in his eye. If possible I would talk to your vet. Not much help, sorry.

Thanks! I checked him again...still eating, alert and no behavior change. no pus, crusty mucous. He has a clear liquid leaking oit of eye, a little only. can't see redness around eye. Will have hubby help me and check again

I would look for a foreign object, like a piece of hay. The cloudiness is what makes me question infection.

Look for a foreign object of some sort, sounds like something is in there. Flush I out with some saline and treat with tetra or ophthalmic eye ointment.

I would do an eye wash. Probably got poked. Eye stuff I think vet is in order.

We have had goats that got poked very hard in the eye. Our vet had us put penn in the eye. A long time ago so I don't remember which penn or how often etc. I just remember the eye did turn grey and was that way for weeks even after treatment and he was blind temporarily in the eye. Eventually his eye color came back and he was fine.
