Got it, the frame is attached to the weighing system. Though try as I might, I can't figure out just where the weighing system IS. I ASSUME the rubber feet are for height adjustment and are not related to weighing.

Is your stainless platform going to have similar 'anti slide' bumps?

I believe it has a single load cell inside the center channel, utilizing a wheatstone bridge.

Hi everyone, Im Thomas with smithco. I would like to first thank ALEXZ7272 for purchasing a scale and sharing it on here. I apologize you were surprised by this one being made out of ABS plastic. It is the only one made that way and why its so economical. The other 2 are made out of a steel frame and have a stainless steel top. Dont worry though, i have sold these all over the country and have yet to have a issue with the abs plastic cracking or breaking to my knowledge. Im very accessible to my customers so im sure i would of heard if this has happened.

The scale has 4 load cells inside. Each foot is a load cell.

I would hope you to try it as is and see how you like it. If you modify the top on it you will be voiding the warranty. The plastic cleans up pretty easily. The rubber mat does a good job to help prevent slipping and it is very easy to wash off.

I do recommend everyone to protect their investment by storing the scale after use in a DRY place. It doesn't necessarily have to be climate controlled but if you are below freezing it wouldn't hurt to keep it somewhere its not freezing. I keep mine in my shop between the fridge and the wall. The handle and wheels makes it real easy to slide it in there out of the way. Its there in the 100+ degree days as well as the cold ones. We have mild winters here and only gets freezing or below a few times a year.

If anyone has any questions or comments about the scales I would love to hear them.

Heres a pic of the wheels and handle

Hey Thomas, welcome to BYH! Glad you stopped in. Nice to have an equipment rep present that can and will answer questions. :D So from your handle I have to assume you raise boer goats... we have a lot of active goat folks here on the site. We also have a pretty active group of LGD folks. Hope you'll browse around a bit and decide to stick around. Make yourself at home and join the fray when ready. I noticed you posted in the Arkansas thread kind of an introduction. Perhaps you'll share some pics of some of your animals? We're all a bunch of pic addicts...

Get one of those "dorm size" fridges and stick it under the stand for the planer or something ;)
