Hi there,
We are looking at buying two baby mini nubians from a local farm in our area. The farm has a website with lots of information about their testing, genetics, and they are registered. The problem is the owner is very busy and it will be a week before she can let us see the goats. She is selling her puppies and letting people see them this weekend. But she doesn't' want to show the baby goats till Friday.

But she said we could pay her $100 deposit for each goat through paypal to reserve the goats.

Is it normal to buy goats without ever seeing them from far away? How do you make sure its not a scam?

thanks so much!

I'm in NC and bought a goat in Ohio and had him shipped
But I knew the breeder
People do it all the time
But usually from well known breeders

thank you for your reply. The breeder has their information on the miniature dairy goat assoication website where they registered their goats. Maybe I just should ask if she could email their records/history of testing for diseases... so I know its all true. I don't want to waste $200 deposit.

I would definitely ask for a copy of the latest test results.
No reputable breeder would be offended.
We test our herd and provide the results when requested.
