I hear you on the does vs bucks, SBC!!! With our quads I was so sad with 2 boys and then the next one was a doe and I was like, YES!! :clap Would've taken another doe rather than the last buck but hey I'm not complaining!!! It was my first year using my new buck from Dills and I was Very happy with the boy to girl ratio I got with him only being a yearling! 5 doelings and 6 bucklings from 5 does.

@Goat Whisperer owns over half the herd... lol we run the farm together... she does the milking lol - although now with the machine I will be too!
We have only 7 being milked right now- one is dam raising because we had the flu during kidding season- the whole family was sick... so some got leeft on moms and then we pulled... the one doe's kids were just too dumb to ever take the bottle lol.
We will have 2 more in milk soon! :)

We were suppose to be on test but between the flu and our tester was having alot going on we missed all the first groups... the next ones should be on! LOL we have been trying for 3 years to go on test and something always happens. :hu

Yep we will be bottle feeding for a whole year and then go straight into kidding in January... it will never end. :th:th:th

We keep saying we are going to do bucket feeding but it never happens.

Welcome, from the big beautiful state of Texas. It seems like you have come to the right place, with all your goats, chickens, LGDs and horses. As @Latestarter and @Southern by choice said, we have lots of goat people here, as well as horse and LGD people. And oh yes, the chickens seem to come with the territory. So, you will also see comments about chickens!

@Baymule has some horses, so, you might just click with her.

I don't see a location on your member profile. Where are you located? What kind of LGDs so you have?

We have two awesome 2-1/2 year old Maremma's, 9 goats (4 wethered ND, as well as two sweet LaMancha does, who both kidded recently [One had a single buckling in March and one just this past MAY 13th], a set of twins - one of each. :celebrate I am milking for the first time and enjoying the yummy milk.

In addition, we have 12 chickens, 4 Pekin and 5 Muscovy ducks and a turkey hen.

Once again, :frow :welcome

Hi!!! I'm from southwest Ks. My male LGD is a Great Pyrenees. Best dog my husband or I have ever owned, hands down. The female is a Sarplaininac/Anatolian Shepherd. She's in with my does and my male guards the rest of the place.
