I don't know about mineral blocks hurting their teeth.
I always thought it was just that their tongues are so little that they can't lick off as many minerals as they need.
I had a leftover Block from when I had horses, and it is in the goat pen....I haven't noticed any teeth marks. But mine also have loose minerals, so they aren't tempted to worry at that block. I have seen them lick it on occasion.
