adopting an older pet pig?

Hi! Recently Iv been interested in getting a "mini pig" as a pet. Iv done a ton of research and know there's no such thing as a true mini pig and I'm aware of the extensive care they need. Unfortunately Iv been unable to find much on adopting an older mini pig. While browsing craiglist Iv come across a very cheap small potbelly that clearly needs a little help. She currently lives out in a barn in a very messy small stall but it seems as though she's on a proper diet. She's never been an indoor pig. She is one year old and around 40lbs. According the the people they're rehoming her because their kids have lost interest. My first question is would it be possible for her to adjust to life as an indoor pig after being an outdoor pig for the first year of her life? Would she still be able to be house trained even though she's older? Thanks I appreciate any responses!

You might let her in the house for short periods, but in all reality, she would be much happier outside. She definately needs to get out of that messy small stall in the barn. Do you have a fenced yard for her? She needs to bask in the sun, lay up in the shade and probably needs her very own kiddie wading pool as well. You could let her in the house, give her an Oreo cookie for a treat, but let her go back outside.

I had a potbelly that liked to come in, play awhile, then go back outside. She would beat on the back door for a cookie. sometimes she took her cookie and that's all she wanted, sometimes she came on inside.

I suppose you could rescue her from a not so great home and play it by ear.
