Hi From Wisconsin, I bought 2 baby ND wethers a month ago and am slowly learning about all their traits. So much fun for me and my 3 Goldendoodles. Looking forward to this group, as I am new to these babies. Allready made the mistake of turning them loose in my 2 acre back yard where they ate lots of weeds , plants and floiage, ignoring their nice soft grass hay. Now they have huge berry poopoo the size of pine cones. They are now grounded back to their pen for awhile and not happy.

Greetings and welcome to BYH. They sure are cuties. Goats really prefer browse over graze, so they'll turn up their noses at grass any time they can get trees/leaves/woody weeds/your favorite landscape foliage/etc. They are also rather fast and tricky and escape artists... but they are also amazing animals and a lot of fun with their antics. Please browse around and make yourself at home! Glad you joined us.

ETA: They will also kill young trees by de-barking them (girdling), so if you have trees you wish to keep alive and well, better place fencing around them to keep the goats at bay. Also, some plants are poisonous to goats so you should kinda keep an eye out for that as well.

Welcome from VA.

Latestarter has already given you the cute & problematic speech. Take this advice and read up...they are loveable animals, goats. Their main purpose in life is to entertain us but, often that means they also annoy & worry us.

Cute guys. Love them and they will return it 10 fold!!
