How does this look for a start (0-60 lbs) hog for now? I took a stab at it using Evapig. I have no experience with this.

I used this for the recipe:
peas, 50%
soft wheat 23.5%
triticale 5%
barley 5%
vitamin/mineral mix 4.6%
lysine at .5%
Cottonseed meal 10%
salt .4%
dicalcium phosphate 1%

You are ambitious. I just fed the already bagged pig feed. Those ingredients look good enough for ME to eat!

I've also seen various protein numbers. Some are 18, others 12, others 14. All say "growth to market" so I don't get what the minimum is. We'll also supplement the diet with greens, breads, dairy byproducts, etc

You going to mix it yourself or have a mill mix it for you?
Custom mix can get pricey.
I have seen folks make their own livestock mix in a cheap harbor freight cement mixer and store it is sealed up 55 gal plastic drums or big Rubbermaid containers.

Good info here on the grains you mentioned:

Well he has a feed grinder already in his barn. If I know what to make, I can tell him a recipe and he can buy the three main ingredients, then mix in minerals after grinding.

Another thought I had...he already has cattle. Could you just use an all-stock, then add beef minerals to their food and pig minerals to theirs? I've seen one company in idaho that lists theirs neatly online and they both use peas, barley, and wheat. The numbers are very close too. I made a comparison here.

I just finished 3 feeder pigs and I paid $360 per ton for.feed
If you are paying more for that for your mix probably not a winner
