9 day old pygmy/lamancha cross is eating 4 oz every 4-6 hours (about all i cab eveb get gim to take) but yells when he needs to pee. I go stand him up, he yells then pees and crashes right there or a foot or two away. He gets up on his own while out in the back yard but still doesn't move far. Only moves a few feet if at all.

When do you say that he isn't going to be able to make it as a goat and he should be put down? He seems more pygmy sized as my other baby goats who are a week older are nubians and so much bigger and of course more active.

Pic is with my 10-11" tall puppy.

He seems strong in his cries. Eats well but needs to take a couple breaks to get it all down. Pees fairly frequently. Doesn' poo much but really seems normal in other ways. I still get up at night and feed him at least every 5-6 hours since he isn' thriving but he doesnt necessarily cry for it. I just feed him on a schedule.

He is staying inside my home until he gets strong enough to be with my herd. I just need him to be more mobile/active. He may not have gotten any colostrum. Momma died and his 2 siblings died. I only took him as a favor for my neighbor who is way too busy to deal with the little guy.

He just doesn't seem to be progressing toward moving out. He stays the same pretty much as he was the day I took him in. I do feed him fresh, raw goats milk from my herd.

I would get an actual weight on him. Can do it easily by holding him and step on a scale then subtract your weight.
If he is 5 lbs then 4oz would be correct. However if he is 7 lbs then he should be getting more per feeding.

I gave some lamb and kid paste but I also just gave some selenium gel per the suggestion. I don't really know any signs of deficiency except maybe muscular issues which he possibly has.

I braved the scale which I do not like to do since I turned 40. It said 4.5 lbs but postal scale said almost 5 the day I got him and I know he is heavier now. The pygmy charts said 1-3 oz for up to 3 weeks old....
