Your boy is so beautiful!

This is my pony-sized mount, Dewi the donkey. He is just 12.2hh, a little bit shorter than I would like, but we work well together. He has only been under saddle for a few months, so we still have a lot to learn, but we are getting there!

I'm not sure why, but I like riding smaller horses much better than tall ones. As a tall person though, I always seem to end up on tall horses. Dewi is a bit short for me as far as giving him leg cues, so I mostly use voice commands. It works for me since I only intend to use him for hacking and trail rides.

I had a 16.2 hand mare that I could no longer get on, due to arthritis in my knees. I swapped her for hay. I have 2 old seniors, age 29 and 31 that can die here, they've earned it. We bought a small horse at 13 hands and he fits me just fine. He's great with the grand kids too.

This is our grand daughter on him.
