My goats graze and have no browse . Most parasites are found 16 inches or closer to ground. For many years I did monthly fecals on entire herd as part of a project with UT Vet school, Dr. Sharon Patton. This is what we worked out to prevent problems. If goat is on browse the parasite pressure is much lower.

Deer meningeal worm is only vulnerable before it leaves bloodstream. Ivomec once a month during warm months is only choice you have if you have had losses due to feed meaningless worm. It has been many years since I have had any problems, so don't treat. But, 20 years ago when white tail population soared, it was a problem. No testing will tell you if goat has it, they just go down with neurological problems.

Never had any deformed kids from using valbazen. As I said once bred do not deworm until after 60 days. I deworm twice before I breed to ensure encysted immature worms that become active after initial deworming are eliminated, too. The immature worms will not be laying eggs so do not show up on fecal. You can deworm that one time, have a negative fecal, and a goat die from parasite overload.
