Hello,

I am new to Cattle. My wife and I just got 2 Red Baldies, a heifer and a steer. As we are new to the game, I am here to seek advice with issues that arise, as they are already doing.

I hope to talk with many of you soon,

Mark Suplee

Welcome! Retired cattle farmer of +30 years. Angus, Polled Hereford, Baldy crosses, Jersey, and Jersey crosses. Ran about 30 head. Sold out a couple years ago due to my dad and my Dh health. We were in it together, but I did day to day care and vet work.

Now I milk at commercial Jersey dairy when friends need me. We milk 20 to 35 head with 2 at a time pipeline system.
Where are you located? I am in Dandridge, TN.

Downsized to poultry, Nubian dairy goats, LGD, and a bossy pot belly pig. Get my cow fix watching next door neighbors cows and Sunday morning shift at the dairy.

Hey Donna, my wife and I also have poultry, mainly laying hens (molting season is no fun), but we've also done cornish cross and have a breeding pair of turkeys. We have boar goats as well, but only a small herd.
As an experienced cattle farmer, maybe you can help me with an issue I am having:

Greetings and welcome to BYH Mark, from NE TX! So glad you joined us. There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. We have several very knowledgeable and helpful "cow folks" here as well. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. You'll get to "meet" many of the folks in doing so. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!

Hello and welcome to BYH!
We do have some very knowledgeable cattle folks here who might be able to help you with your questions.
I am fairly new to cattle myself so I don't have much to offer.

Now sure how I missed this one. I live on the North side of Cleveland, about 8 miles out..maybe less, along the serene and scenic banks of the San Jacinto River's East fork.
Welcome to BYH.
