New To Llamas

So I recently purchased 2 5 yr old gelding llamas.(first time owning llamas) 1 can be touched, doesn't really like being haltered but can be touched. The other 1 is very skittish and can not be touched. He's not mean and doesn't spit, but he runs. Ive had them for about 2 weeks now and he gets closer to me but as soon as I move, he'll walk away. What can I do to get him use to me?
The only time he was messed with from the previous owner was to get his feet trimmed, teeth floated and sheared. Before this owner, he wasn't messed with at all, just used to guard goats.
I try to go out every day and just sit there talking to him. Im want him to know that I don't want to do something to him every time I touch him. I want him to know that I will just pet him or brush him.
I figure its like my horses. If I just mess with them when I want to ride them, or the vet or ferrier is going to poke and mess, theyre going to start running from me whenever they see a halter in my hand.
Any advice welcome.

From my experience camelids are not the most social animals, unless you have raised them from a young age its hard to get them very people friendly. I think what you are doing is good, they are quite shy animals so just be patient.

No direct experience with camelids, but favourite foods held at arm's length often 'breaks the ice'.
