I'm following quite a few kidding/lambing threads and thought I would start my own!

I had 5 does kid last year and 2 of them I bought already 3-4 months bred. My 3 girls all had singles. 2 bucks and a doe. The 2 I bought both had twins. 3 does one buck. So a total of 7 kids from 5 goats. Anyways, we should have at least 6 does kidding this year(which is an improvement from just 3)

Mary-Lou(Toggenburg X)
Kidded a single buckling 2017 on day 148
Kidded a single doeling April 2018 on day 148
She was bred to Sebastian. her due date is 01/30/2019 or 02/04/2019 based on 148-day pregnancy.

Sarsaparilla (Nigerian dwarf)
2F. She is bred to Grass. Her due date is 01/25/2019 or 01/31/2019

Dippin' Dots(80% nubian 20% alpine)
She is a FF. She was born February 5th, 2017. She is bred to Sebastian. Her due date is 02/11/19

RootBeer(BoerXNubian)
She had a single buckling March 14th, 2017
She can be bred to either Sebastian or Sticks.
Sebastian bred her 3 times, September 12th giving her a due date of 02/09/2019.

BBL "Bubble" (Boer)
We bought her in June. She had three, 4-month-old kids on her at the time. She is almost 5 years old. She was bred to Sebastian and Sticks. So she is due either 02/11/2019. Or 03/17/2019. Or 04/02/2019. (Not bred)

"Twinkle" Toes (Boer)
She will be 2 years old in April. This is her FF. She was bred to Sticks. Due date is 03/04/2019.

Anime(Boer/Nubain/Lamancha)
She kidded a single buckling March 2018
She will be 3 years old in April next year. She was bred by Sticks. Was bred December 6th and 12th, due May 5th or 10th.

I'll try and get pictures of all the girls later. Here are the bucks.

Here is one of Sebastian's wether kids. They brought him down and said he was for sale and I couldn't pass. He is a Boer/Nubian. The dam was traditional boer and sire was Sebastian. Makes me excited to see what I'll get!

Sorry for the long and confusing post. I'm mostly using this thread so I can keep track of dates and signs for future kiddings, but it's great that others can be waiting with me! I also saw Latestarter had a poll, so I thought it would be fun. The girls are on much better minerals and diets this year so I hope most will have twins. Edited to make it shorter.

Finally got some pictures of the girls. It was cloudy, cold, windy, and they are getting winter coats. So sorry that some of them are just heads, lol.

Well, this week has been pretty busy. On Thursday RootBeer got out and into the chicken feed. Ended up with bloat. After some oil, baking soda, and massages she is doing just fine now. I have been trying to fix/improve my barns roof for about 2 weeks now. In the winter of 2016, my barn collapsed and took out most of my original herd. I will NOT take that chance again. My buck has been spraying his urine all over himself....and the nights for the last week have been 18 - 14°F. Had a scare with him. Temp was 99.6, he was shivering and hunched up, not moving. Got a heater set up, lots of straw and got his temp up to 102.9. I also got a visit from my old neighbor. She is who I got anime from! Thought it was cool she got to see her.

Lots of color variety there! Love it!
Yes! I'm super excited to see what I get! I'm most excited for Mary-lou and Bubble and Dippin' Dots I think I should get some good combos, and tall/long kids, great for pack goat prospects!

You have some really lovely goats!
Thank you! I definitely had some improving to do as far as diets, supplements, and minerals last year. They aren't in absolutely great condition but I am happy that I have them on a much better road now! Learning something every day!

Well, I decided I'm going to update every Monday until mid-December.
Rilla's earliest possible due date is in 62 days. Time is going so much faster then I thought! I remember my first couple years and even last year. It felt like hours were days and days were years! Now everything is going by so quickly, I swear that I just put the buck in yesterday!

Temps are back in the 30s and 40s for now. First snow of this winter is supposed to be December 2nd but we will see. My mom had another baby a couple days ago. So yay for no sleep! My bottle kid from February broke her scur off sometime during the night (picture attached) and I've been watching her. So, it's been a fun week! I've also decided (after I went to a dairy goat educational class) that I'm going to be pulling and bottle raising all my dairy kids. I'll leave all the BoerX kids on, but all (or most) dairy kids will be pulled. Its a long story but I can explain it later.

That's a scur? Looks more like a legit horn to me... :idunno In any case, you might want to get some sugar or blood stop powder to put on it. It will help dry it, stop the bleeding, and form a protective crust until it re-hardens into horn again. My buck ripped his outer horn covering off one of his scurs earlier this year when I was reminding him who was boss. Bled pretty bad until I got the blood stop on it. It's all healed up and good as new now.

I don't think it will make any difference. The idea is to stop the bleeding/form a seal-crust. If you don't have blood stop powder, then sugar should serve the purpose. If it stops the bleeding, that's the initial goal. I'm sure he/she will bang it on something and start it bleeding again at some point... so by then you should have the blood stop powder and can use that. Now that I can see it clearly (before and after) yeah, it's obvious that it's a scur.
