I have a 3 day old orphan doeling, I have milk replacer for her which I am offering several times a day 7-8 times she just won’t touch it. Only way I get a couple oz into her is with a syringe! I have tried a couple different nipples and bottles, she just chews them she won’t suckle or nurse. Starting to get concerned!! And frustrated!

Should I try cows milk? I only have 2% on hand

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated!

She’s pooping and peeing every couple hrs

Worrying, but somethings going in if she's pooping and peeing. Sometimes they do take a day or two to start up. Is there anything else wrong with her. is she bright and alert.

I wouldn't switch to cows' milk.

Will she suck your finger? If so, get her sucking your finger and transfer her to the teat.

If she's otherwise well I would syringe some milk into her, then let her go for about 4 hours (until she's good and hungry) and then try again with the teat.

Good Luck.

A trick I’ve seen others use is to cover their eyes. This is natural as their dam’s body covers their eyes when they nurse.

She may just not be getting hungry enough with what she’s getting from the syringe. It’s not enough to survive on though.

Peeing and pooping are good signs.

Don’t give up. Switching around will cause digestive issues. Pick something and stick with it soon. We use vit d milk.

Pictures? Breed? Weight? All of these things will help with how much she should be eating. (We just really like pictures.)
