We purchased this Nubian goat about 2 weeks ago from an acquaintance of ours that buys and sells goats. He told us that she is bred and is about 3 months along. Her udder looks like it is getting fuller but it is developing unevenly. I have checked for mastitis and there is no heat or sensitivity. We have bred our ND goats but have never seen something like this. Any input on if t

Not normal. She may have one side damaged. May have had mastitis before.
Has she ever kidded before?
She looks part Boer.

If you got her from a "trader" (one who buys and sells IOW flips goats) more than likely she was someones cull.
You really should get her tested for CAE, Johnes, CL and with Nubian G6S.
All those diseases (except G6S) are communicable to your other goats.

Thanks for the response, we had her tested for cae and johnes before we introduced her to the herd.

I suspected she may be a mixed breed as she does look meatier than most nubians, as we just use it for milk at home I'm not too worried about it.

If she does have damage from a previous mastitis infection what does that mean for her future as a dairy goat? Would she still be able to produce and expel milk from both teats?

ThBks again for your input!

You will just have to wait and see.
I know that isn't particularly helpful, but for many it is a waiting game. Some say the "bad" half will still milk but not well.
