Rose cant go that far but we may shift Allie over there. He is about 1 1/2 miles around the corner. Then again Spirit might not do well if Allie goes and he doesn't. But Spirit cant go bc the pasture is too lush for a mini. Cant have him founder when he has a previous case when he was younger. I'll have to assess everyone and decide. For now NB gets a bit of extra love and attention. Especially since the main pasture there isn't finished... Poor baby of mine stood watch to make sure we didn't hurt Sully and as moral support for his friend.

ROSE. She was stalled this afternoon. She started dragging her hoof. Not good. Swelling and all has gone down but with the dragging we have a whole new set of possible issues. That being said, expert opinion is coming tomorrow. The on call couldn't come bc they were delivering with a broodmare who had complications, or something like that. I didn't really want to call anyone that I dont know so she is all comfy in her stall now that her mobility allowed her to mosey on around to it. Cross your fingers that she hasn't made things worse on herself. :fl

I'm sorry you lost the old guy :hugs Here at "geriatric acres" I count noses each day and watch the amblings for any issues. Mine are all old, I feel your pain. BUT as Bay said, he was given love until the end. Believe me, he knows that and will see you one day -- running free and healed. :love

So, did I miss the puppy pics ? :hide

Maybe you could take Rose on a lead and walk her to NB, they could talk for a few and it may reassure him. Oldersters don't take loss well...he may just need a nuzzle.:)
Here ya go!

Better than I hoped for. Her hip dislocated. So nothing wrong with the leg. Other than swelling of course. It was popped back in and she was given a shot of antibiotics and a shot for her joints (bc of the swelling she had). Still have to continue the linament. But you could almost immediately see a difference even with her new three-legged stance. I'm just so thankful that it wasn't something worse.
