So far 2019 has been pretty good at the farm. I am still in the process of finding a new place to move the farm. Hoping for bigger acerage and I just haven't found it yet! The past 2 weeks I have had 6 kids born and I'm milking 4 does starting next week. I also want to share the exciting news of a new buckling to the herd tomorrow! I am purchasing him in hopes he will be my next herd sire. As of tomorrow he will be 2 weeks old and is being bottle fed. The picture I have included is him.

After fighting with my FF on the milk stand I only ended up with a few pictures, but I will get more tomorrow! The picture of the two white kids are mini nubians and they were born 2 weeks ago! I'm trying to get that doe caught everyday in order to milk her, but she just doesn't like to be around people...any tips? I've tried food, I've tried sitting there and letting her sniff me out. It's just not working. I've had her since 2017, but sold her last summer and brought her back this past December. The other pictures are of the new ADGA buck kid.

Well, I can tell ya what I did with the most skittish doe I've ever seen.....I see ya are in Alabama, so I know ya have sweet gum trees close by ya, if not, on the property.......go get ya aboy 4-5 branches that are about 4-6' long....as full of leaves as possible.....walk into an area that she is comfortable in and just walk to that area....see how close ya can get to her with the leaves......with each branch, move your hand up the stick and try to get her to eat the leaves right by your hand.....they can't resist the smell or taste of them....ya will have her following ya around before long at all.....:)

Sad news! I lost my doe, Frosty yesterday, due to what we think was post kidding complications. I have went from 1 to 3 bottles babies over the weekend and I'm exhausted to say the least! Frosty was one of the very first goats, of 3, that I got when I started raising goats. She will be missed for sure. She had a one of a kind personality.
