Ive got a yearling ram who bloats regularly. Not so much that he’s in danger or even uncomfortable. He was headed for the freezer in any event but is there anything I need to do to make things easier for him and for the processor? He’s normal in the morning but a bit of a zeppelin by evening.

I didn’t think about baking soda. I’ll try it. My concern is a horrible ka whoosh at the processor. I’ve heard stories about rumenal contents smelling bad, awful and nearly altering time and space (you can’t get far enough away fast enough).

If the slaughter people do their job right, there will be no "woosh"--the whole digestive aparatus will come out intact.
