I used to slaughter my laying hens at 3 years old. I opened one up and found packed eggs inside. Obviously she wasn’t laying any more and they were piling up inside. She didn’t show any signs of discomfort.

Chicken still alive & wandering around. She'll either get it/them out or learn to enjoy the spa days 😂

Goat is still pregnant. Rain all day tomorrow

Inky is keeping her trips safe from the older kids romping around -- and she's making sure all 3 nurse🥰

This is Brat...waiting for me. I sold her kid yesterday. Ahhhhh, milk is all mine now! 😊. Wash & milk begins today. Probably her sister will be in line up next week. Pulling her kids. Then maybe Summer 🤔. Inky nursing trips less than a month old -- may need to supplement in a week or so. :idunno this is what happens.

She was truly a brat to milk today! Probably sore/tight from not having that groping kid on her and....not a warm, wet tongue suckling 😆

Wanted to hold it back & did to a degree. But just shy of 1/2 gal. So I fought until I got a lot of it and will have to work thru the change with her. It's that OR pull kids first day & bottle them; or a real serious milk share. But, nursing "whenever" & then back to 2x a day takes some body adjusting. They do tend to want to dry up on you, also. Each is different.

So long as I'm holding a job, won't be a lot of bottle kids as choice. But I plan to have cheese in freezer & fresh milk to drink for a while. We'll see how it goes.
