My husband and I are expanding our goat's pen and swapping out a old shed for a barn. The issue is how to coax our 2 Nubian/ Spanish breed goats (2 years old)
into the new barn. They usually follow us but can be stubborn and choose not to.
They've never been on a leash but we bought collars meant for goats, just haven't needed to use them up until now.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks you!

Halters work better than collars because you have control of their head.
We moved our goats to a piece of our property far away from their normal area so I haltered them. They had never been haltered before but were ok with gentle guidance from us.
And yes, definitely reward with feed.

Thank you for your suggestion. Today is the day we transfer our goats to their new pen and barn. Praying all goes well. Now I have a lot of room to create some fun play structures. I will post a photo in a couple of days. 😃

Getting the goats in the barn/shed last night was not easy. Took us 30 minutes. One would go in and then go out. Grain wasn't that fascinating, I guess. Hope tonight goes better. Harness is our next idea.

What's the goal? Locking them in there overnight? Just getting them used to it? If they have access to it during the day, all it will take is some weather they don't like for them to use it.
We've enlarged their pen so they have more room and graze the weeds. Overnight safety because of coyotes.
The goats care sisters. This evening went better. Zeva went right in to eat grain. But Abby stayed out. My hubby closed the door and after she cried a bit, in she came when he opened the door! Yay! 🎉
