I have riden horses for 2 years, but have only owned my horse Misty, for a year. She was greenish when we got her, and wasn't confident in herself. But we brought her around, after trying to cow kick us, rearing up, and running me down the road at a full out lope, she has really turned out to be a great mare, man she so far! I am so proud of her!

That’s like Hudson, 4 years ago when we bought him (I’ve been riding since I was 4 so a while) he was terrified of floats and would fly back down the tailgate as soon as it touched the ground, he was so frightened of whips too (I use mine as a cue not to hurt him) Now 4 years later I ride dressage and he has come so far in the last 8 months I’m so proud of him

He sounds so much like Misty! She ran me down the road ounce because we were crossing the street, and a car when by and she freaked! Full on gallop! I have to put both feet in one stirrup, and grab one rein by her bit to yank her in a circle! She took time, but it truly one extraordinary horse!

Haha yeah I have only fallen off him 2 times but both were bad falls. My first I fell on my hip and couldn’t walk on it for a week and my latest (happened in March) he bolted and I got a concussion from landing on my face on the side of the road. My dad had to try and catch Hudson.

Ohh wow! When Misty bolted, I considered bailing, but I was over the cement. I couldn't get her to stop, and thinly way was to take her in a circle. So I literally, put both feet in one sturup, grabbed on rein right by her bit with both hands, and leaned on the sturup and yanked her in a circle. She stopped fast, and I hooped down. It was my birthday too, and my mom almost we her saddle! 😅

I have been in situations were Misty is bucking because she see's something "scary". I have never fallen off thankfully, I though I was, but whenever that happens I just, grip the treeless saddle really hard with my knee's, and wrap my hands around her mane. Then I go " Mi-Tie!" And pull her in a circle best I can while holding her mane! It hurts though! Did you catch Hudson when he got you off, I hope so!

My dad did, I was sitting there spitting blood so I couldn’t XD. Yeah when he bolted I had just unlatched the gate and it tapped his rump which set him off then coz I was still half out the saddle from opening the gate I couldn’t stop him. And away I flew haha

Ohh thats interesting. How often do you ride? Misty has a small herd of 6 so she's not as bored when I'm not riding. I really think the other horses help. Glad he calmed down! I am soooo excited to enter Buddy, in your contest! I have THE BEST photo of him you are gonna CRACK up!

5 days out of 7 days a week. I try to keep that up but not always. Most of the time it’s 4-3 but I make him run a lap or two of the two acres when I’m not riding so he still gets worked
