Update: She still has 0 udder but started having contractions Friday-Saturday morning. Lost mucous plug(1st one) around December 4th. Her 150 day mark was the 14th so i believe she is at her 154 day mark today. Gonna call the vet out Wednesday if she doesn’t kid by then
Breeding in August/September screws up the breeding system for us up here since we mostly produce for 4H/FFAers and for myself showing. I think i’ll wait to see if she kids and if not just rebreed in May/June
well breeding season for us for the Boer goats are May-August and kidding October-January. I might wait to see if she kids and if not then rebreed her in May
I don’t really mind late kids since i won’t be showin any in the market class…I’ve been told. or to blood test bc it won’t clearly state that they are bred just will say that might have pregnancy hormones in them. And ultrasound is way to expensive over here….
Good morning, or evening homesteaders. I’ve got a doe who has kidded before with triplets. she is a PB Boer doe and should be kiddin around beginning of December. She has not yet bagged up, doesn’t look huge, stood for my ND buck and humped her daughter. could it be hormones from her pregnancy...

i’ve never had a problem with the bucks i’ve had with keeping them 1/2 acre to 3 acres away from my does. they didn’t seem to care much as they were farther away and couldn’t get to the does. it’s also easier to keep them farther away since they will gain their weight. if you put them close to...
they killed all 3 of my ducks. but no evidence was found on how they got in and no hair was found on the fencing. these were my replacement ducks since i recently just lost 3 other ones. they were my babies and they were so excited to see me every day i went to down there
Hello homesteaders! I am trying to convince my mama about me buying a buck or two...I raise Nigerian Dwarf and Boer goats for my 4H and FFA projects, I told my moms tons of pros and cons and she is starting to get convinced but she said she wants a cost comparison on owning my own buck and...

i have purebred boer wether goats. they do bc their siblings always have it. just never my goats for some reason. i always do hardcore butt workouts for them 🤣.
Hello Homesteaders! I have been rasing market wethers for 2 years going on 3...I have raised 3 goats so far and none of them have had a butt on them, only stocky shoulders...does anyone know of a way to get butts on them? I know it has to do with genetics, and I have my own breeding doe this...
