    Coffee anyone ?

Since my dad is a former local preacher I don't get picked for the trials very often. But I still get a summons every couple of years. Plus, if you know anyone involved with the case or have had dealings with the lawyers one is usually dismissed.

    Coffee anyone ?

@promiseacres have you been thru this before? For the most part I find jury duty to be a lot of waiting and a lot of boredom. One piece of advice, go early. Chances are high you will need to in order to get a parking spot or to walk from the one you do find. Do you at least live in an area...

    ldawntaylor - bits and pieces

It was a fairly inexpensive project too. As well as being light enough to move by myself. For lack of a better term I've been calling them chicken panels. Each one is a rectangle that is 4 foot by 2 foot. The material is 1 inch pvc pipe covered in hardware cloth. These won't stand up to the...

    ldawntaylor - bits and pieces

I am giving this set up a few days. Then I will try letting them out with the others. So far all my birds are rather easy going. And this approach ends up only taking a couple of weeks before the small pen is no longer needed. Then it will be either turned into individual chicken panels...

    ldawntaylor - bits and pieces

Moving day for the chicks. Opinions on the set up? They have a space out of the wind in an area the rain doesn't normally reach. In a little bit I will get them some food then get some lunch. I have some happy chicks today. Until next time....

    Keeping Milk in Container

If you look for Hoeggers Supply or Caprine Supply both have some options. Both have websites. I just use a quart jar, a canning ring and the filter. I do have to get the angle right or I get milk in my face. There is a forum about milking that you might search as well. I remember the...

    Keeping Milk in Container

Hi, and congratulations on your first doe. Personally, when I milk it goes through a filter before even going into the container. It takes a little longer perhaps but I don't feel any need to strain it after. Also, I only milk once a day without any problems.

Not a problem, I noticed the other threads after responding here. I doubt it hurts to have the info in more than one place.

    Rammy's Ramblings

So true. Sometimes I use a more tangible way of dealing with things. Let me explain...I write down whatever I want vent about. Then I burn that paper, or cut it up, or use my hands and shred it. Then, I do my best to think about positive things. How the chicks are growing. Or, something...

    ldawntaylor - bits and pieces

It will be time to go to work soon. But, before I do I want to share pictures of my project supplies. Any guesses on what I am making? Anyway, until next time....

    Rammy's Ramblings

Sorry you're having a difficult time. Sometimes I think of venting as if I am dealing with a cut, sometimes that top layer needs to come off for healing. Other times, hard as it can be, it needs to be left alone to heal. Sometimes it is hard to know what is needed when.

My instinctive thought with this is mastitis. It often affects just one side. I could be totally wrong and there be no problem too. I had one goat with subclinical mastitis that occurred with no noticeable temperature. If you haven't posted on the forum about goat health it might be a good...

    ldawntaylor - bits and pieces

I am very pleased. Today was just orientation so I was home about 11. Because of that I was able to get my lawn mowed today. What I am so happy about is that I got the lawn mowed in about an hour and a half. Until today I haven't been able to accomplish that without a break. The first few...

New Additions and How They Grow

That bird is very pretty. With these birds being from a hatchery, Cackle if memory serves, I would be very surprised if any were purebred. The adult pictured earlier in the thread is purebred. I bought her from a breeder in this general area. That breeder seems to have a good reputation. I...

Me too. And my other bantam laid her first egg of the season. That, or one of the Wyandottes laid a smaller egg than usual. So, I got 7 eggs today, while normally I get 3 or 4.
