I discovered yesterday that at grocery store Giant, the price of lamb is lower than even the cheapest current price of beef. I guess we're switching to lamb until the beef market turns right side up again or until the lamb price per pound goes up. It's more tender anyway. Feels really backwards...

    Coffee anyone ?

I'm just outside of DC. Dh works in Arlington and rides the metro. I've ridden it a few times now and it seems pretty safe and we find it the best way to get around in town (crazy city drivers). I like driving PAST DC and I've got a group of parks on the water with beaches I like to sit quietly...

Working on things now. Dh is going to fix the truck to give us a chance to buy another without the rush. Working other things out too, like our long term plan.

All the big tech companies are doing this kind of thing right now so there aren't many jobs floating around. They definitely did not coordinate. That would be illegal. End result will be a big mess and a union situation if they keep pushing it and nobody really wants that. Does not help us...

Yes, they moved the requirement with three badge in/out per week when we moved to Nashville. They're doing it again and upping what they require and I suspect they will start tracking hours to eliminate "coffee badgers" that they are already complaining about (people who badge in, grab a coffee...

I've been telling DH over and over that I'm worried about him and that his night driving isn't great and he should get with his doctor so he could be classified as remote and not have to drive to even the metro station when the sun rises late and sets early and he didn't listen (we do a lot of...

Today puppy tried to chase a Nigerian dwarf goat and she got Riker slammed to the ground and harshly disciplined. Maybe I was wrong he'll be okay as a trainer. He's a lot harsher and always vigilant and on the spot than a human could be.

I finally got a good pic of my youngest. This is the face the kid makes when he's telling you "the house is on fire" (his hand is the fire). Naughty. Moderately intense. Very "keep up or be driven crazy". Don't worry, the LEGO fire trucks he built are on the scene and everyone made it out. How...

I'm not sure he'd go for that although we're all equipped to raise bottle calves, so I'm tempted. Today I'm going to try to steal away some time while the littlest is playing to make a phone call to alaska airlines to see if they can fly a buckling that hasn't been born yet from the Spokane...

Dan still likes cows, and the cows like Dan. They were fighting over his through the fence attention in particular...which wasn't great so we went back to the house for desert. Silly teen cows.

We are dinner with our cow hand friends today. The wife wanted to show off the heifer she was training to take her favorite cow's place (RIP to the processor because she was skittish to anyone but her and was down to 3 quarters). She looks forward to the day she can have her own place and her...

    Recommendations for Goat Supplies

Get a nice hay feeder. Tater red feeder and feed inside work. Hay bags are a waste of money. X-tuff feeders from premier 1 are okay too. Get a nice drench syringe even before you have the drugs, just to have. Milk pails without a rolled edge. Nice hoof trimmers to save your hands and their...

    Coffee anyone ?

My kids never destroy the world for other people. Everyone thinks they're well behaved, quiet, reserved and smart. (??????) Us parents get none of that at home. They probably won't help change anyone's decision.

Shaun's kitten that lets him carry her around like a ragdoll has begun mousing quite productively. She's very disappointed when things die and has to go find another. The corn came down all around us so the pickings are probably good.
