:welcome .. I do not raise rabbits either, but lots of other animals.... and I totally agree with @Mini Horses . We had a cow that had a calf and it's legs looked like the old scissor jacks for cars... That cow took very good care of that calf,,, went to where it was to let it nurse... Honestly...
Funny how we overlap places. Went to Stew Leonards a few times... but it was down in Norwalk or somewhere down further south... I was moved out of the area by the time they got the Danbury place built. Still, A huge place to go shop and prices were pretty good way back then.
The roads/signs...
Campines are not known in the show world as a quiet breed. They are more like the mediterranean breeds, active, more flighty. I am surprised that you have some that are more quiet and handleable.
Both the silver and golden color patterns have been shown...
Obviously you have some from 2...
Thursday. Long day again yesterday... just not on the tractor. Heat was way up again... 98 on the recording thermometer here... I put a different one hanging under the maple tree branch so no sun... and it was 96...
I made a short run with several bags to the dumpster 2 miles away and topped...
So get the chicks, let her raise them to when they don't need her... you get tired of them/whatever....sell them... Might break even or make a few bucks... most people get tired of the heat/brooding stage... fun for a week or 2, then just messy and a pain... I'd rather get young birds after the...
Funny ....except it is all too TRUE.... I am reading that the numbers are getting more and more out of control... and the STUPID PEOPLE that were quoted in a post I saw where they actually "run with them" in some suburban neighbor hoods... Can't remember if it was on here or Cattle Today... Was...
Can you not get damage kill permits for the deer???
My other suggestion will not set well with some people... set up, gut shoot them so they run away and die elsewhere in the case of animal rights activists causing problems...
Or put a 10 ft high perimeter fence around the whole property...
On #6... did you draw a circle on it to distinguish ones to set or something? If not, it really looks like a blood ring and is dead... See them at a week or more...
Not holding out much hope for any but 4 & 5 might be... although honestly I don't think so. Too much "liquid" showing in the rest.
Back in for a break. sandwich... got the massey here with the side delivery rake... will do mine.. take it back to deb's, get my car where this was... go get back in the JD and go do the last 11 acre field. I left this morning before 8... took the massey from deb's and got to the small field...
Okay... I didn't forget. I got the BATTERY riding mower last year... Greenworks brand... because I do not want to deal with oil, gas, spark plugs, carburetors... all that... I got their self propelled "push mower" the year before and like the quietness of it... So I decided that I would finally...
Went and did some raking... got snyder's piece, one small front field at neighbor's house because it was straight rows and no fences or trees near it.. then went across the road in front of DS and did 3 "sections"... 2 separate lots that still haven't had houses built on them yet. but DS said...
I thought the deer were bad here. Another one killed in front of the next door neighbor to DS. 1 mile down the road...
2 prancing across the back yard here and went into the Christmas Tree lot...
BUT never on the back porch that I know of...
Heading to get tractor... It's still 92 in the shade... unreal for here. Humidity is wicked... plan to use JD... turn all the hay "up/over"... then rake with the massey and side delivery rake in the morning on the 5 little fields....I can take the heat first thing before it gets stifling...
@canesisters is doing her own vacc... nothing vet needs to do... Cow is coming in heat on a regular basis so not like she is cystic either... very likely it was early embryonic death... lepto, heat, who knows,,, If she was with a bull, probably would just figure she settled later than early...
I 'm home for a bit. raked part of the 2 biggest fields at Deb's with the JD and DS came with the little Massey tractor and hooked up the side delivery rake and I was on that for a couple hours. Got all of Deb's raked. Takes longer with the side delivery rake since it only does 1 row at a...
Fields grow... hay gets cut... then tedded sometimes to get it to dry faster (think whirly gig fluffing/throwing hay in the air)... then it gets raked into windrows so that the baler can go down and pick it up to bale it. Raking gets it up off the ground so it dries underneath... flips the...
We are nearly a carbon copy of that...heat index 100-110..... Hit 100 at 9a.m. in the sun on the temp recorder... back down to 95 now in the shade...too hot for here, especially this early in the summer...
Tomorrow supposed to be hotter... then low 90's after Wed...
71 overnight. No relief. Sun just hit recording thermometer sensor... 100 with the sun directly on it... NOT the way you want to start the day...at 8:30 in the morning.
Y'all please take TEXAS weather back....
Heading for the tractor and the rake... DS says he can't get the 4600 ford fixed...
